FIPA – a short presentation
The Finnish Information Processing Association, FIPA, (Tietotekniikan Liitto ry) is an independent association of Finnish ICT professionals and companies that provide ICT products and services or use them. FIPA has currently about 16 000 professionals and more than 500 companies as members. They are organised as 27 individual FIPA member associations on the basis of geographical area or professional theme. In addition there are three student associations.
FIPA’s main objective is to develop the professional skills of its members by means of networking, member activities, training, publishing, research and development.
FIPA was founded in 1953 as an association of punched card technology users.
FIPA is a member of CEPIS (The Council of European Professional Informatics Societies), NDU (Nordisk dataunion) and IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing).

ESATKY – a short presentation
Local FIBA, called ESATKY (Etelä-Saimaan tietojenkäsittely-yhdistys ry), is located at Lappeenranta, very near Russian border. ESATKY has currently about 200 members from various local companies.
